Another of my favourite albums, Tri-State is a smooth and delicate trance album. Late-night listening at it’s finest, it’s hard to pick just a few outstanding tracks as the album is best listened to as a whole. There is a good balance between instrumental and vocal tracks. Highly recommended listening.

This is the first drum & bass album I ever bought, after having heard only one track from it, too. I have no regrets whatsoever- it’s a stunning album from start to finish. Excusing the pun, this is some of the most soulful drum & bass I’ve ever heard. Liane Carroll’s smooth vocals perfectly complement Tony Colman’s musical style. Both a great place to start if you’re new to the genre or if you’re already well-versed in the ways of jungle and are looking for something new and exciting.

Air’s Moon Safari is one of my favourite albums of 1998. It is in a word, soothing. Every time I listen to it, I can’t help but melt away into my chair. It’s hypnotic, really. If you’ve never heard Air before, this is a great place to start.
